In this project, we want to make it possible for two spin qubits to communicate over long distances, which is very important for building a larger quantum processor. We plan to connect the spins via a superconducting resonator, a device that can store and transmit energy in the form of waves. In the first part of the project, we will investigate the fundamental properties of spin qubits when they are localised in Germanium quantum dots. This is important for understanding how to couple a spin-qubit as strongly as possible to a superconducting resonator. In parallel, we will work on the properties of the superconducting resonators so that they can sustain the magnetic fields needed in order to properly operate the spin qubits. In the final stage of the project, we are going to combine the developed superconducting resonators with the spin qubits localised in Germanium to demonstrate long-distance entanglement. For the realisation of the project, we are going to use Ge heterostructures to host the spins and granular aluminium for the superconducting resonators.
