The impact of linkage disequilibrium

This project aims to understand how genes work together to help populations adapt. Imagine a group of animals starting a new colony. Some might have gene variants that are more "mixed up" than others. This project will see if these mixed-up genes help the animals adapt to their new environment faster or in different ways. The project will use computer simulations and experiments with specially bred animals to see how genes affect adaptation. This will help us understand how living things evolve in the real world.
